hottest day of the year!

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006
So it’s going to be 36 degree Celsius today huh?! Certainly feel like it this morning on the tube, the London Transport should really consider installing air conditioning on their tubes and buses, seriously, telling people to take a bottle of water with them when traveling is not going to be enough is it?? it’s a joke!
It’s quite lucky that I am working in the ‘fashion’ industry and we are able to wear anything we fancy, shorts, mini skirt, vest top and flip flops..
Speaking of work, we were just talking about how the retailers should get the season/timing better.. I mean, most retailer starts their summer season in Feb.. and obvious summer clothes won’t sell that time of the year, then by June the summer sales starts even before the weather gets warm (I swear summer sales begin earlier and earlier each year, every retailer is trying to outdo each other by having their sales sooner)
When the sun is shining, they are selling stupid autumn stuff?!
Like I was trying to look for some sundresses and shorts last weekend at Bluewater, can you believe I cannot find anything in the entire shopping centre.. absolutely nothing, zero.. unless you are prepare to rummage through the jumble sales corners, but honestly, I don’t have the patient, and those professional jumble sales shopper will not let you get your hands on anything while she’s looking at same rail.. Jesus.. I suffered enough elbowing on last Saturday alone and that really put me off. So I went home empty handed, oh actually, I bought a goldfish bowl vase.
Another reason why I hate shopping!! it’s a waste of time and energy..

The butterfly effect

Monday, July 10th, 2006

I am actually agreeing with Biff for the first time… watched The Butterfly Effect last night, a story about how small change of event triggers a large series of ripple effects… thinking its only another boring old thriller horror type movie, but to my surprise, The Butterfly Effect is actually a really good film and I enjoyed it so much, it’s imaginative, edgy and gripping. I would highly recommend it if you haven’t yet seen it. If this is not convincing enough, see Biffy short review

Biff quote:

Watched "The Butterfly Effect" today - its an amazing film (but full of time travel paradoxes) - I’m a sucker for time travel tragedy films, so you can imagine how eager I was to watch this. Its about a guy who realizes he has the ability to go back in time to "make right" the tragic events suffered in his childhood - yet things don’t quite go as expected. It has some overtones of "Back to the Future", yet less of the comedy and more of a thriller.
