It’s my favorite day of the week again!

Have just had my toasts and tea, gonna quickly update my blog then I will start doing some work..

Decided to get my hair cut short again I was planning to grow it long but I had enough of it now, it’s hard to look after long hair and I just don’t have the patient. it’s such a shame though cos it has taken me two years to grow to the lenght I am now, and I have shinny healthy hair (not a single split end thanks to my the great avocados) So I’m saying goodbye to my hair and going to pay my hairdresser a visit tonight.

I have also decided to give up eating chocolate. My addiction to chocolate is costing me a fortune… went to have my routine dental check-up yesterday only to find I need to have three fillings. It’s going to cost me £295.80p, that’s including my 15% membership discount (but then I have to pay a annual membership fee of £120) ouch..ouch ..ouch!!

Lower left molar - £96.90

Upper right incisor - £85.00

Lower right premolar - £96.90

X-ray - £17

Dental examination - free

20mins hygienist visit - free

My dentist said I have lovely teeth and he can see that I have looked after them, he doesn’t understanding why I have decay, I’m sure he knows why but he just making me admit that I have sweet tooth.. He said that if I hadn’t looked after my teeth I would be in big trouble.

But really, money isn’t the issue I’m more concern about the injections needed for the upper front tooth, apparently it’s the most ‘unpleasant’ area for injections.

OUCH!!

I’m also having a physiotherapy check up tomorrow. It’s a free session from a prize draw that Mike has entered for me, and I can’t believe I have won it.. anyway, it will be interesting to see what the physio have to say about my posture and spinal health or whatever..

A hint of white

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006

It’s no fun going home to an empty house I tell you.. I begin to feel more sympathetic towards single people and those who live alone..

Luckily Mike is back tomorrow :)

I have an invitation to a 10th year anniversary party, dress code - a hint of white

Righhhtt… that’s gonna help, what?? smart causal white, formal white, or white tie white??

So England vs Swede tonight huh? Just how contradicted Magnus is being half English and half Swedish?? hee hee..

Another sinatra concert

Ebay is great!

I have been searching for tickets for Sinatra Under The Stars outdoor concert at Kenwood House but the top price ticket are completely sold out everywhere, only the promenade lawn tickets left which I don’t really want…but just when I’m about to give up,  I found a pair on ebay, the seller is having a operation scheduled after she bought those ticket hence she’s selling them, and guess what… I have WON!! Can’t believe my luck.. ok I had to pay more or less the face value of the tickets but it’s worth it, they are premium deck chair seats right by the centre stage….

All I have to do now is to organize a picnic pack, and just hope the weather will be nice on the 1st of July!!

Went to Julie’s for a bar-b yesterday (thanks Julie!! food was great and thanks for letting us play poker and I guess we won’t be seeing that smirk on Johnny’s face anymore huh??) The girls are talking about perhaps going to see Ronan Keating at same venue… but just stay outside the marked area / public area so we don’t need to get tickets. But then we don’t get to see Ronan Keating??!

The only thing I like about summer is all the outdoor activities :) take away the hay fever and the unbearable heat would be desirable!!

Mike has left again about 2 hours ago.. I miss him already :(

Luckily I have 2 more episode of Lost to watch (thank you my buddy Biff), also the cleaning, hoovering and the ironing to keep me accompany this afternoon!

Strange Italian chocolate

Friday, June 16th, 2006

So Mike’s back last night and bought back the most bizarre chocolate - curry flavour chocolate, pepperoni flavour chocolate, and EXTRA plain chocolate..

Unfortunately, he has to go back on Sunday night. Oh well, this time I want some proper chocolate, OK?

Watched Wolf Creek myself yesterday (although I’ve been warned not to watch it alone) If you haven’t seen it then don’t. It’s horrible and bloody.. it’s about some backpackers getting tortured and killed. Apparently it’s based on true events.

Stressed ‘makes us happy’

Thursday, June 15th, 2006

There’s an article in Metro yesterday suggesting being stressed actually makes workers happy, and those who are under no pressure at all are more miserable. Boredom can be as damaging as overwork.

I guess it is true in some ways - look at myself as an example, I tend to preform better when I’m under ‘acceptable’ amount of pressure, I’m more productive and result in greater job satisfaction and motivated to do better.

I remember there were days where I can just surf the internet all day long with nothing to do, no aim and no purpose, the days just dragged and I was pretty unhappy and was desperate to get out…

So there you go..

And apparently,  most people says enjoying their job and getting on with their colleagues are more important, and surprisingly, money factor came low on the list when it comes to job happiness (they must be crazy!!)

Home alone…

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

Mike has gone to Milan for few days I’ll be home alone again.. just hope everything is going according to plan so he doesn’t have to stay behind..

Good news is that I can eat whatever I want for dinner, no more salad, salad or salad… (nah, only joking I don’t want to ruin my diet!)

Last night I went back to my normal spinning class, boy! it was hard work. Trying to do the same routine after having 3 weeks off plus on top of that, the unbearable heat.. it was suicidal..Just imagine doing  a non-stop 4 1/2 minute sprinting after 45 minute worth of cycling!!! (the propose of that is to get rid of the waste product lactic acid generated during intense exercising)

The weather has cool down slightly today which feels much nicer, temperature yesterday exceeded 30 degree in London and I drank 4 litres of water, 4 cups of tea and 1 cup of fruit tea.

My 1st pair of Havaianas arrived this morning but it’s raining (damn it)

hot hot hot!!

Saturday, June 10th, 2006

So much of take it ‘easy’ at work but it was just manic the whole of last week.. just when it is going to end?

The temp has left on Friday as she’s been offered a permenent job elsewhere, I wasn’t happy with her attitude anyway so I’m fine to let her go (she answered back couple of occasions when I was telling her to do something, how dare her?!)

Oh well it’s the weekend now, let’s not talk about work too much…

It’s extremely warm today think it’s about time to get the air-con unit out, looks like we are gonna to have a hot summer this year (finally!!).

England’s first match today against Paraguay, honestly, I don’t care less about the World Cup so I decided to go to town while everyone is watching footie.. what a great idea, town almost deserted… I normally hate going shopping but had a enjoyable time today, I had my eye check-up, a spa pedicure done and bought some new tops and shorts, and I managed all that in just 3 hours.

After that, I came home and decided to re-arranged my wardrobe and take out all the summer clothes, also to make more space for shoes (yes I know..) bought 3 pairs of Converse in Malaysia, god! can’t believe they are only 1/3 of UK price, so I added a pair of navy blue, grey and chocolate brown to my collection.

And now I have some new shorts I need to get some Havaianas flip flops, can someone please tell me why they are so bloody pricey in England?? surely they can’t worth more than a fiver but they are retailed at £20.. I was hoping to get couple of pairs in Malaysia but perhaps they are not trendy enough for the Malay youngsters.. or whatever the reasons, I can’t find them anywhere, how disappointed!!Nevertheless, I’m not paying £20 for some plastic so I’m going to have alook online in a minute.. SO I need a pair of black, navy blue, green.. and hmmm.. one of every colour if I can afford it!!

I’m back

Back to work today!! Nicceee…

It actually feels like I have been away for ages…

Have tons and tons to catch up on, loads of problem and issues while I’ve been away as expected, but I’m taking it easy, not going to stress myself out too soon.

Very pleased to learn that we are keeping the temp we have hired during my absent, well.. till end of June anyway to help out.

I have tried to upload the holiday snaps but I have used up this month’s quota half way through the process, so I have to finish it off next month, how annoying?!

Anyway.. better go and do some work

Hello gloomy England

Thursday, June 1st, 2006

Arrived back last night, can’t believe it’s only 14 degree here got used to at least 34c in Malaysia (so cold that Mike has just turned on the heater), still, glad to be back to my own lovely home and back to normal life and the normal food, no more greasy spicy food and the over-eating!
But I think Mike is going to miss all that..and his family of course, although we have planned to go in 2008 but he’s already talking about maybe pop over for a quick visit next year, with or without me.. *grumpy*
But anyway, next time we are not flying with MAS, very disappointed with the service, no wonder they are making loses and they are definitely going down hill.
Instead, we are planning to fly Singapore airlines directly to Singapore and spend couple of days there, then take the sleeper train to KL, and hopefully we can fly over to Ko Samui for a week or so.. (Thailand in case you don’t have a world atlas) hmm.. ok keep dreaming…

Highlight of the trip is definitely Cameron Highlands where we stayed a night on route to Penang, it’s like a holiday resort that was bullt by the Brits back in the days when Malaysia was governed by the British.. we were having scone and tea at the tip of the mountain it’s just lovely.. the place is famous for it’s local tea, strawberries and roses, hence we bought back loads of tea bags and strawberry jams as souvenirs.
And I’m just stuned by how cheap food is in Malaysia - we spent an entire afternoon in this exclusive swimming club in Panang with Mike’s family (Mike’s dad is a member) all the drinks, snacks plus dinner for 8 only comes to 20 quids! amazing!

Have just downloaded the photos will update my photo album when I finish relaxing… still in Malaysian mood at the moment (lazy). So glad I’m not going back to work till next Monday!! Can sit on my ass all day long the next few days, hee hee!
4 months to go til the next holiday now (4 days in Rome, woo hoo), might have to fit in couple of sickies in between :P
