Half a bucket

Anyone done ‘test the national English literature’ test on TV on Saturday night? I have missed the beginning of the program and I’ve only completed 43 questions. Out of the 43 I have only managed to answer 22 correctly, which is poor really! It just shows how awful my English is!
Ironically, I have been told by number of people that I have these funny accent when I speak Chinese nowadays.
There’s a Chinese saying ‘half a bucket of water’, meaning insufficient knowledge. So that says, I have half a bucket of Chinese and half a bucket or English! Not good!
