Last bank holiday before X’mas

Tuesday, August 30th, 2005

So what did I get up to this long weekend…

Saturday

Was watching documentary about the World War 2 in the morning, it made me realised I don’t really know much about our own history. How did the world ending up fighting each other for 6 six long years?? Should at least know the proceedings I thought, would definitely look into it when I have a chance.

Late afternoon, our world atlas is up finally

Was playing ‘how well we know each other’ game with Mike after dinner.. how dare him not know my favorite ice-cream after chocolate is strawberries? he insists it’s Green&Blacks vanilla?! everybody knows it’s strawberries! ok remember:

1. Haagen-Dazs Belgian chocolate

2. Green & Black’s dark chocolate

3. Haagen-Dazs strawberries

4. Green & Black’s vanilla

Sunday

Met up with Biff and Karen at Richmond park, originally planned to do some skating then hit the pub. But we were unable to find suitable path so gave up skating in the end, instead we had a stroll round the park, and couple of drinks afterward is inevitable! it was such a lovely sunny day to be out and about.

We were home around 9 only to find the atlas has came off the board!

Finished reading Digital Fortress - if you haven’t read it don’t waste your time. I read Da Vinci Code before the whole Dan Brown phenomenon but must admit I don’t think much of it. Biff recommended Angels and Demons which I quite enjoyed. Just wonder if I should bother with Deception Point..

Monday was completely wasted as I was in bed till 1.30 in the afternoon, highlight of the day was an hour or so of ironing. joy oh joy!

So here I am again, back at the fun factory! Have to work a solid 4 months before the next bank holiday now!! 4 months!

Travel journal

Wednesday, August 24th, 2005

Was nosing around a friend’s route tracker yesterday. She’s taking a year out to travel around the world with her boyfriend and they set off about 6 weeks ago, started from Ecuador where they taken a two week intensive Spanish course, then down to Peru and now in Bolivia.. not sure where their next stop would be but they will be going round the world through Australia, Asia and back to Europe.

Their sense of adventure is envious, although I love travelling I would never be able to do backpacking… I enjoy my luxurious travel too much :)

It’s a shame that I cannot share their travel log with all of you as it’s password protected. But I was very much inspired and decided to have my own travel journal - you will be able to see the places I have visited in the past, travel notes and of course the photographs (it’s still under-construction at the moment)

I love my atlas and I spend lots of time reading the World Atlas that Mike bought us. And hopfulling by this weekend, the world map will be up in our studies, we are going to pin-point the places we have been together… only a handful of places at the moment but we are definitely building up on it.

OK, I must find the exact location of Langkawi (spelling it right now Mike!)

Langkwai..here I come

Malaysia trip next year is confirmed!

We will be flying out to Langkwai and stay there for 5 days before heading down to KL - I’m not entirely sure where Langkwai is. Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe it’s a small island near Thailand, and I’m sure there will be loads of lovely beaches.

Mike is now training me up by next May I should be able to eat spicy food just like any Malay people..Waaahhaa

British summer

Monday, August 22nd, 2005

My train broke down this morning just before we reach London Bridge, had to get off and wait for the next one in the cold and rain!! what a nice start to the day..

It’s near end of August but I don’t recall having any ’summer’ at all this year.. We tend to have couple of warm days but it will always follow with rain and chill, but nevertheless, me, Mike and the usual gangs still went for our annual seaside trip down to Bournemouth yesterday. To our surprise, it turned out to be a fine day and I even got sunburnt. It did cross my mind to bring some sunblock with us, but the past experience taught us it would only mean extra weight to carry, instead we bought extra jumper and jacket… That it, next year I will bring everything to cater for all 4 seasons. Really cannot believe I got burned! in England!

Speaking of summer, we are now booking our ticket for next May’s Malaysia trip..woo hoo!! Love travelling but dreading the 12 hours flight though (Mike actually enjoys flying, what a nutter!)

One about work

Friday, August 19th, 2005
keeping this one short, I’m trying to get everything done so I can leave at 4..
I don’t normally get nervous going to meetings but I was dreading this meeting I had to do this morning to finalise a style, all because the people at the factory don’t pay no attention whatsoever. They managed to produce the most horrific sample I have seen in entire career with every details being made incorrectly. Due to the short leadtime,  I have no choice but to bring these samples along.
Thank goodness it’s all over now and I’m amazed with my bullshitting skill. hee hee.. But of course, I had to blast the factory to release my anger. They probably deserve it for not taking their brain to work!

This is my next car!

5.5 Litre

top speed 155mph

0 to 62.5 in 4.9 secs

an awesome 360hp (haha, try beat that Biff with your 237 horse shit)

And it’s just sexy!! ok.. perhaps it’s far too powerful for such small car and a tiny person like me. Alight Mike, I would settle with SLK 350 but please don’t forget I want it in silver with black leather seats.

p.s I’m not really getting it (just yet) I’m only day dreaming!!

Goodbye…

Lost!

Monday, August 15th, 2005

Trying to sit myself down to watch the replay of first episode on E4 last night to see what the fuss is all about. I just couldn’t get myself to concentrate on it even there’s so much hype about this new American series. I guess I am not a ‘drama’ person at all…

I don’t often watch TV for starter, the programmes I ever interested in are documentaries, news, and er, TV commercials. I don’t watch drama or series..with ‘Friends’ being the only exception! Absolutely cannot tolerate British soaps and reality TVs, how can people waste so much time in their life watching such rubbish?! and then spend the whole of the following day talking about it. Just go and get a life people!

I guess if your favorite TV shows represent your personality then mine would be serious and un-adventurous??

Back on the market

Friday, August 12th, 2005

I am sure some of you might already be aware that the UK retail sector is suffering poorest sales in history (due to various reasons - rise of interest rate, bad weather and of course, the terrorist attack) Consequently, my company is also being affected badly with numbers of client dropped significantly.

This time last year I solely run over 50 styles, and now I have 16! With the amount of work I only need to be in 2 hours each day! So you can imagine how ‘motivated’ everyone is in our office at the moment, well, especially boss is away on a two weeks holiday. Our time would be spent surfing the internet, gossiping, reading magazine, oh and eating… consider the size of our office, we have a huge stock of junk food available. It’s quite unbelievable that we polished off 2 JUMBO size Toblerone in two days. Though, I have to say I only have one piece, honest!

So there you go, time to move on I think…

3 bottles of wine later…

Wednesday, August 10th, 2005

Ok my plan for the weekend was ruined by that 3 bottle of wine we had on Friday afternoon..

As usual, I staggered back home, passed out in bed and woke up with a sore head. I must say though, it wasn’t the worse hang over I had but still I can’t face anymore drinking and I need a quiet night, so unfortunately.. I had to cancel the girlie night in. Feeling bad but I’m making it up to the girls now by organizing the hen night, hope I won’t disappoint the girls this time!

So plan for coming weekend… Yes more drinking to celebrate old fogy Biffy’s birthday.

Happy birthday for tomorrow matie!
